Interview conducted by Odessa Neaman as part of the LDS Native American Oral History Project by the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University on June 5, 1990. Fifita, a Sioux, talks about her experiences growing up on the Sisseton-Wapheton Reservation in Sisseton, South Dakota. She describes her conversion to the Mormon Church and her experiences in the Placement Program, at Brigham Young University, and on a Mormon mission in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She talks about her marriage to a Tongan. She talks about the role of Native Americans in the Mormon church.
